Johannes Knabe co-founded PlagScan and oversaw the technical development as Chief Technology Officer. After the merger of PlagScan with Urkund he was also CTO of the combined company Ouriginal.

Before this he was a project and innovation manager at DHL/Deutsche Post.

To improve fair chances for every child and with a keen interest in teaching, he joined Teachfirst and worked for two years at a school in Hamburg.
10.2005 - 06.2009 PhD in Computer Sciece, at the Adaptive Systems and BioComputation Research Groups, Science and Technology Research Institute, University of Hertfordshire, UK
Johannes has a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Hertfordshire, UK for research on adaptive systems, more specifically Computational Genetic Regulatory Networks. There he was also involved in teaching students and supervising their thesis writing.

He holds a BSc in Cognitive Science degree from University of Osnabrück, Germany. Johannes' focus was on Artificial Intelligence as well as Computational Linguistics, but also as teaching assistant he got first insights into education.
